Personal Assistant Support Service (PASS) is a matching service for adults with physical or learning disabilities, older people, and people with mental health problems or long term illness. PASS aims to help people who are seeking to employ a personal assistant to support them to live independently and lead the best quality of life possible.
The service provides a more flexible alternative to traditional support, allowing people to choose, employ, and pay the staff who work for them. It enables people to have greater choice and control in how their care is provided and receive support that is suited to their individual needs and wants.
Personal assistants can offer a range of skills and services such as:
- Meeting personal care needs
- Helping with cooking and cleaning
- Helping with shopping and other daily tasks
