Care4all wouldn’t work without the incredible individuals that help to run our excellent services.
On this page we will post interviews with our staff, with the aim of giving you a glimpse into the faces behind Care4all.

 

Elfy – Naughty Christmas Elf

Length of Service: 2 weeks

What does your role involve?

‘My role as ‘Office Elf’  involves a lot of mischief. I sit around all day looking innocent and then when no one is around, I set about causing as much trouble as possible. I’m mostly here to wind people up!’

What do you enjoy about your job?

‘I like to see people’s reactions when they see what I’ve been busy doing while they’ve been sleeping! I make lots of people laugh and that’s important to me. I don’t like the threats people make when they don’t like what I’ve done to them though.’

What does Care4all mean to you?

‘Care4all have been pretty good fun so far this year! They provide me with somewhere warm to carry out my naughty plans and there’s always plenty of sweets and cake around for me to scoff when no one’s looking!’

What do you do in your spare time?

‘I enjoy horse riding and going on holidays with my girlfriend, this year we went to the bahamas!!’

‘I was actually present at the birth of Jesus and I’m very good friends with the three wise men!’

Jo Avery – Customer Relations Officer

Length of Service: 6 years

What does your role involve?

‘I am the Safe Place Scheme Coordinator which involves signing up businesses to the scheme and talking to the public and organisations about how the scheme works. I also promote the charity and what we have to offer within our different services.’

What do you enjoy about your job?

‘I enjoy meeting the public, talking and giving information about Care4all and the services we offer. If i can help just one person, it makes me feel I have achieved my goal.’

What does Care4all mean to you?

‘I have a disability myself and was unable to gain employment until Care4all saw my strengths and not my weaknesses.’

What do you do in your spare time?

‘I enjoy shopping, going out for meals and spending time with my friends..’

‘I was shortlisted for a Health and Social Care award, which I went on to win!’

Enya Stockton – Volunteer Receptionist 

Length of Service: 4 years

What does your role involve?

‘Answering the telephone and transferring calls, taking messages for the staff, dealing with customer enquiries, checking library books in and out, adding new books to the system and putting books away in alphabetical and numerical order when they are returned.’

What do you enjoy about your job?

‘I have had a love of libraries since I was little so this is my dream job.’

What does Care4all mean to you?

‘Care4all has given me a job opportunity in a safe working environment along with staff who understand my needs and are supporting of me .’

What did you do in your previous job?

‘I was a trainee receptionist at Queen Street Health & Wellbeing Centre.’

What do you do in your spare time?

‘I am a member of Girl Guiding and am a qualified Guider. I am also a member of the Disability Sports Forum NEL.’

‘I give 100% to everything I do!’

James Hayes – Support Worker

Length of Service: 3 months

What does your role involve?

‘To ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of the residents of the supported house I’m based at.’

What do you enjoy about your job?

‘Every day is different! I enjoy how busy it is and learning something new every day. I also enjoy working with supportive and friendly staff.’

What does Care4all mean to you?

‘Care4all means a safe and friendly environment for the people who I and staff support, for service users to live their lives as they wish in the best possible way, safely and happily.’

What did you do in your previous job?

‘I used to be a carer for my Mother.’

What do you do in your spare time?

‘I play the guitar, listen to music, cycle and go on my computer. I also enjoy rambling in the Peak District during the summer.’

Tell us one random fact about yourself

‘I once cycled from Grimsby to Skegness in one day (160 miles) with a friend.’

Debbie Trushell – PASS Officer

 

 

Length of Service: 4 years

What does your role involve?

‘The main focus of what PASS promote as a service is to assist our clients to be able to live and be active in their local community with support. I am also involved in all aspects of the payroll service.’

What do you enjoy about your job?

‘I enjoy helping client achieve the potential. I also find all aspects of payroll interesting.’

What does Care4all mean to you?

‘A caring organisation, that wants and acts in the best way for all clients.’

What did you do in your previous job?

‘I worked with adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues.’

What do you do in your spare time?

‘I enjoy spending time with my family, particularly my Grandson. I enjoy travelling and go on holiday as regularly as possible.’

‘I get lost – a lot!!’

Steve Beasant – Volunteer 

 

 

Length of Service: 2 years

What does your role involve?

‘I help residents look into their ancestry by running a Family History Group at the Library each Friday morning and I can often be found early in the morning in Buffalo Bill’s Pocket Park, cutting grass, planting bulbs and generally tidying up!’

What do you enjoy about your job?

‘Meeting the local residents and chatting with them, finding out their thoughts and ideas.’

What does Care4all mean to you?

‘Care4all is a great place to volunteer and last year I won Volunteer of The Year with them.’

What did you do in your previous job?

‘I worked as an engineer.’

What do you do in your spare time?

‘I enjoy ancestry, finding out information about my relatives from years gone by really interests me.’

‘I am a local councillor for the Liberal Democrats.’

Alan Styles – Meals on Wheels Driver

 

 

Length of Service: 3 months

What does your role involve?

‘A delivery service of hot meals on cold snacks, dishing the meal up if required, making a hot or cold drink, prompting for medication andanything else the client wants as well as making sure that they are generally well.’

What do you enjoy about your job?

‘Knowing that I have made someone happy with my service, just because I might be the only person they see all day, so if I can make the client smile then I’ve done a good job.’

What does Care4all mean to you?

‘A great charity with opportunities for all to join in with and be part of a respected team who care for everyone’s needs.’

What did you do in your previous job?

‘I worked for a stationary and office furniture supplier as a delivery driver for 12 years.’

What do you do in your spare time?

I enjoy designing or making things, whether it be crafting, tattooing or baking with my family.
