The Meals on Wheels Service delivers a ready cooked, hot, nutritious, two-course mid-day meal to individuals living in North East Lincolnshire and the surrounding villages. This service operates 365 days a year and delivers in all weathers.
We offer a customer driven flexible service, with no minimum contract involved and a range of payment options available. It only takes a few moments to set up, and we can deliver a meal at very short notice.
Our customers are predominantly over 65, but we can deliver meals to anyone who is having difficulties cooking their main meal either through age, disability or lack of cooking facilities.
Meals can be delivered on a temporary basis – for instance to support discharge from hospital, or if your regular meal provider is away on holiday or even if you just don’t feel like cooking that day.
We offer a variety of meals to suit all tastes and either a hot or cold dessert.
If an individual has problems eating or has specific dietary requirements we can provide:
- puréed meals;
- a soft option
- gluten free
- diabetic suitable
Although our main menu consists of traditional English fayre, we also offer a range of contemporary meals for you to choose from, the two course meal costs £5.50 locally, please enquire if you live outside of N E Lincolnshire.
A teatime snack can be delivered at the same time as the main meal Monday to Sunday. The snack consists of either a sandwich or salad bowl, with or without a cake, prices start from £2.00.
The Meals on Wheels delivery staff are employed by the charity Care4all, which provides a wide range of social care services to vulnerable people. All staff are DBS checked, have regular supervision and are very well trained and supported. We provide the comfort of knowing that a friendly, fully trained professional will conduct a welfare check on those people who live alone, which allows family members who live away or have their own commitments the reassurance that their loved one is being checked upon daily. Due to the relationships that our drivers build with our clients, they can recognise any changes in a person’s health and wellbeing and can then offer to contact GPs/District Nurses, social care workers or family members.
Meals delivery staff can:
- plate meals and add extra gravy if required
- set the table and help the individual to the table
- set the meal onto a tray and take through to the client
- make drinks, dispose of food containers etc.
- provide prompts for medication, if required, subject to the required assessment.
We believe our service is the very best, but don’t just take our word for it, see our customer endorsements on the right of this page.
